“Starting at 11 am on Saturday, September 10th, Chop Suey Books will host Richmond’s first and only 24 Hour Cookout. That’s right, the flames will be raging throughout the day, into the night, and straight through until Sunday, September 11th at 11 am. That means you can visit for lunch, dinner, 4th meal, breakfast, and lunch again! What could be better than a 24 Hour Cookout? Well, all money raised will be donated to ART 180, Books On Wheels, Studio Two Three, and Helping Hands, so while you’re getting creative on how to sneak a sixth visit in, these great non-profits will be figuring out great ways to spread these funds throughout our awesome city. And it doesn’t stop there. The grill will be overseen by organizer and cook Stephanie Failla, but the food will be donated by these generous restaurants: Mamma Zu, Sticky Rice, Cafe Ole, Bon Venu, New York Deli, Joe’s Inn, Mojos, 821, The Nile, Christopher’s Runaway Gourmet, Captain Slappy’s, and Lamplighter. You already love these places, so make sure to thank them for their generosity next time you eat there. And keep an eye on Chop Suey Books’ Facebook page for updates on what is being served throughout the day and night. This event will be held in conjunction with 26.2: An All-Write All-Night Writing Marathon organized by Richmond Young Writers and held at Chop Suey Books. Spend a night out with your white out!”
